The results of this study, that lasted a duration of 28 years and followed the diet and health of over 60,000 women and 31,000 men, showed that those with a higher intake of Olive Oil in their diet were 19% less likely to die of a cardiovascular disease, and their risk of dying from cancer was 18% lower than those who tended to opt for other fats such as, margarine, butter etc. Senior research scientist, Marta Guasch-Ferré, advised “Clinicians should be counselling patients to replace certain fats, such as margarine and butter, with olive oil to improve their health.”


The benefits do not end there, Olive Oil has been linked to helping reduce the risk of many health issues: strokes, type 2 diabetes, and even certain cancers.
