OLIVIERS & CO PRODUCER
Yera Family
In the family estate located near Baeza, in the region of Jaén, near the river Guadalquivir, the Yera family cultivates centennial olive trees. The farm covers 100 hectares and has more than 8,000 olive trees of 300 years of age.
The Yera family has been involved in olive growing for several generations. For decades they have owned small olive groves where the whole family has collaborated in the production of oil. Twenty years ago, the Yera family expanded the estate with the acquisition of several historical plots where they followed the family tradition, putting all their affection in the production of the highest quality oils.
The family estate is located between the municipalities of Mancha Real and Baeza in Jaén (Andalusia), nestled in the natural setting of La Laguna Grande in the heart of the river Vega Guadalquivir.
The natural area of La Laguna Grande, whose ecological value is known for its flora and fauna, is considered an exclusive and ideal habitat for growing olives in the best conditions, thanks to the quality of the land, the altitude and the climate of the area.
The Yera family puts all its efforts into taking care of the small details, from the cultivation of the tree to the production process in the oil mill. During the harvest, they carefully select the plots where the fruit is at the optimum moment of ripeness, pressed in less than three hours by cold extraction so that the oil retains all its essence, flavor, aroma and emerald green color.
The knowledge and passion for olive oil has been passed down from generation to generation in the family. Today, the family can count on a team whose experience and efforts make possible the excellence of their know-how and their olive oil.
